
RESTORING ACCESS, IMPROVING SECURITY: LEKKI LCDA BEGINS CHANNELIZATION WORKS IN IGBO OLOMI
June 18, 2026Following the recent inauguration of a special security task force by Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, efforts to strengthen security around schools reached Lekki LCDA today as officers from the Lagos State Police Command embarked on an assessment tour of public primary and secondary schools across the council area.
The task force, comprising personnel from Adeniji Adele, Maroko, Denton, and Mushin Divisions, inspected school environments, identified security strengths and vulnerabilities, and engaged stakeholders on measures to further enhance the safety of pupils, students, and school personnel.
The team was received at the Council Secretariat by representatives of the Executive Chairman Engr. Rasaki Bamidele Kasali, led by the Secretary to the Local Government, Dr. Bukola Lawal.
As part of the exercise, the delegation also paid courtesy visits to His Royal Majesty, Oba Liasim Olumuyiwa Ogunbekun, Onilekki of Lekki, and His Royal Majesty, Oba Ismaila Adeleke Akibu, Onilepia of Lepia, where discussions focused on community participation, intelligence gathering, and collaborative approaches to security.
The police team reaffirmed its commitment to safeguarding schools and supporting efforts to maintain a secure learning environment, while the council delegation pledged the full support of the administration in advancing Governor Sanwo-Olu’s vision of safer communities and safer schools across Lagos State.
