LAGOS STATE SECURITY TASK FORCE BEGINS SCHOOL ASSESSMENT TOUR IN LEKKI LCDA
June 20, 2026Residents of Igbo Olomi have faced a recurring challenge whenever the rains arrive. Overflowing stormwater, erosion, and poor drainage have often left sections of the community difficult to navigate, disrupting movement and affecting daily life.
In response to these concerns, the administration of Engr. Rasaki Bamidele Kasali (MNSE, MNATE), Executive Chairman of Lekki LCDA, has commenced extensive channelization works aimed at improving the flow of stormwater and addressing the long-standing erosion issues within the community.
The project is also delivering important security benefits. The clearing of thick vegetation, swampy areas, and overgrown bushes along the drainage corridors is opening up previously obscured spaces, improving visibility and reducing locations that could serve as hideouts for criminal elements.
The intervention reflects the administration’s commitment to practical solutions that improve the quality of life for residents while creating safer and more accessible communities.
