Fresh off their victory at the 7th edition of the Onilekki Annual Ramadan Cup, Dr Kasali FC, one of Lekki LCDA’s finest grassroots football teams was received by the Executive Chairman, Engr. Rasaki Bamidele Kasali (MNSE, MNATE), today in his office.
Their journey is one of consistency and resilience. After finishing as runners-up last year and emerging champions the year before, the team has now reclaimed the title in 2026. Proof that talent, when nurtured, always finds its moment.
The Chairman commended their discipline, resilience, and commitment, encouraging them to sustain the momentum. He further revealed that plans are underway to introduce structured talent hunt and scouting initiatives, designed to help players and aspiring talents within Lekki LCDA gain visibility on bigger stages.
In recognition of their achievement, the Chairman also presented the team with a generous cash gift, reinforcing his administration’s commitment to youth development through sports.
The team, sponsored by Prince Bayo Ogidan, was led by Captain Ogunbekun Oyinkansola, alongside Head Coach Ogunbekun Tanwa and Team Manager Ogunbekun Sharafa, former Sports Director of Lekki LCDA. They were ushered in by the Supervisor for Sports, Hon. Shonaike Olatokunbo, and the Supervisor for Youth Empowerment, Hon. Balogun Isiaka.
Speaking on behalf of the team, the Manager expressed appreciation to the Chairman for his unwavering support, noting that such encouragement continues to inspire their achievements.
